Finale: Alliance Ceremony
Each student had a role in the culminating activity. Alliance speeches were made, "gifts" were given to kingdoms, unity ceremonies between prince and princesses were "blessed", and all classes created and performed a dance to period music to celebrate the alliances. Each kingdom showed their pride in their costumes and effort to complete their role's requirements.
"EXTRA EXTRA! WE GOT HOT STUFF OVER HERE! The Visigoths recently have allied with the Ostrogoths and Franks. Who knew? Could this possibly be a trick?
I am called Gustavo S. Cunha III and I am the reporter of my kingdom, the Visigoths. I went live to this event and so far the Ostrogoths and Franks seem to be respecting the alliance. First came the Blessings of the Alliance Ceremony, preformed by the bishops. They prayed for us that our alliance would work out and that God will protect us. The bishops also prayed for the protection of our kingdoms and the protection of our people. Everyone had their head bowed as they agreed to the prayers spoken.
The Reading Of Alliance Agreements came next. This portion of the ceremony was preformed by the kings. Kings from all over were present. King Zack, King Alec, King Austin, King Tim, King Anson, the other King Alec, and our beloved King Caleb were all present there. Their crowns were all adorned with precious gems and rare jewels. Then they read the agreements and introduced their peasants.
The Presentation of Gifts was led by the Dukes and Earls. Most of the gifts were food but there was also some cloth and even household items. Then came the beloved Alliance Ceremonies. This was the most beautiful part of the ceremony. This was the portion when the princes and princesses got married. Prince Matthew of Murphy seemed very eager to marry his princess. The vows were read by the monks and nuns of the kingdoms.
The Viking Statements followed shortly after. This was led by the King, Queen, Prince, Princess, and Jarl. They swore they would never harm us again. After they made their oaths we got a pleasant surprise. We got our bishop back! Everyone was rejoicing over this event and it only added to the happiness.
Last and certainty not least came the dances. They were spectacular! Each dance had its own style to reflect each kingdom. We got to see a glimpse of how each kingdom was. If I may add I did wonderful during my dance. Everyone was absolutely happy during this part. It didn’t matter if we were a king, queen, serf, peasant, monk, or whatever. We were all united under one kingdom like a real kingdom should be. With that the kingdoms were all allied and we lived happily ever after."
